Post World Cup 2018 FIFA friendlies
Official friendlies saw Portugal and visiting Croatia tie 1-1, Belgium defeat hosts Scotland 4-0, Colombia do the same with Venezuela 2-1, Brazil follow suit 2-0 over USA, and Uruguay win similarly away 4-1 to Mexico. Winning at home were the Korean Republic 2-0 over Costa Rica, Ecuador 2-0 over Jamaica and Argentina 3-0 over Guatemala, Germany defeated Peru 2-1, and the Netherlands 2-1 over Peru.
On Monday Russia plays the Czech Republic and on Tuesday England plays visiting Switzerland, Colombia hosts Argentina, USA hosts Mexico, and Brazil plays El Salvador in Washington, DC. Though some top players are bound to be missing many stars have committed to show up and the varied hosting venues are adding exposure and interest to a number of one sided FIFA friendlies match ups.
The UEFA Nations League debuts
Opening the inaugural UEFA Nations League tournament, Italy played Poland to a 1-1 draw while Russia defeated hosts Turkey 2-1, England lost to visiting Spain 1-2, host Switzerland defeated Iceland 6-0, Denmark won 2-0 over Wales, Germany and France drew 0-0 at Germany and hosts France 2 Netherlands 1, in the UEFA Nations League.
On Monday Portugal hosts Italy and Sweden hosts Turkey, while on Tuesday, Spain hosts Croatia and Iceland hosts Belgium.
